Our one day Can Bus and in-vehicle networking course is designed for technicians who need to understand automotive and other
transportation based communication networks. The integration of different systems requires a different approach from a diagnostic
viewpoint.
You will learn the practical application of in-vehicle networking. You will discover where to best measure signals and with what tool. The
course makes use of the oscilloscope and the scan tool and teaches you where to measure and what to look for.
COURSE SUMMARY
* Overview of vehicle networking technologies.
* Testing techniques and fault-finding.
* CAN, VAN, LIN, MOST & Flexray networks.
* Interactive diagnostics using a vehicle network system.
* Impact of network failures.
* Waveform patterns and understanding the electrical signals.
* Gateway ECU's.
* Coding and programming.
* Future technologies.
Here are Five Good Reasons why you should attend a Technical Topics CAN Bus Training Course
1) The course will give you the confidence to tackle and solve CAN Bus related faults on a wide variety of vehicle and transportation
systems. Our courses are limited to 8 people meaning that you'll get plenty of time to ask questions and to take part in the practical
tasks. Beware, other courses will jam 20 or more people on a single course.
2) The course has a high degree of practical work meaning you can use what you've learnt the moment you get back to work. You will
be trained by a practicing master technician in a genuine vehicle repair facility with real jobs on hand.
3) The course is unique. It doesn't tie you to one specific piece of diagnostic equipment or scan tool and it doesn't just focus on a single
manufacturers CAN Bus system.
4) No other UK training course covers the number of different CAN Bus systems or diagnostic tools that we do. No other course busts the
myths surrounding CAN Bus like we do.
5) The course is written with you, the technician in mind. We don't restrict you to the manufacturers way. We'll show you how to
understand the systems and how diagnose and fix the system in the quickest and most accurate way. We are fully independent.
You will learn how to perform diagnostic tests and how to recognise the differences between the various vehicle network systems and
their faults. During the course you will use a multimeter, an oscilloscope and network analyser. You will cover module coding, setting
customer options and network configuration.
You will receive a fully illustrated course workbook. Practical task sheets, which can be used during fault diagnosis when you are back at
work, are also provided to support the workshop sessions.
The aim of the course is simple: To make you quicker and more accurate in the diagnosis of problems which affect in-vehicle
network systems.
Previous Experience: In order that you get the most from this course we suggest that technicians attending this course should have
ideally attended our Electrical Fault Finding for Diagnostics course. Alternatively, technicians should have a background or experience of
electrical systems and fault finding.
Pre Course Work: We recommend that you buy and read our CAN Bus diagnostic book prior to attending the course.
